Epsom Cycling Club

Okay chaps, here's where to post your thought and ideas on the new site. Here's the feedback I've had via email so far and my responses:

Can you move the Events part further up on the home page - DONE

Also on events, is there an 'at a glance' listing of the whole season anywhere? An online equivalent of the spreadsheet that gets sent out. - ONCE IVE ADDED IN ALL THE EVENTS THEN THIS SHOULD BE OK. IF NOT WILL ADD A PAGE WITH AN "AT A GLANCE " LIST SIMILAR TO THE CURRENT .XLS

You ask about historical results, and yes I think they should be on there. I HAVE WORKED OUT AN EASY WAY TO DO THIS.

The most important point is keeping it up to date so hopefully this one will be easier than the last. WILL ORGANISE TRAINING IN DUE COURSE

I seem to remember that there was a calendar display in the early mockups, (I think) that might be useful if we want to try and organise our open TT (and Sportive and RR ) entries a bit more. DONE

I've added an event as a trial, it always seems to need an image, I wonder if that is really necessary. Also is there a way to invite members of the website other than by their e-mail address. May not really be necessary if use epsom group e-mail address?

There's a new release a couple of weeks away that includes adding an event without the need for a photo. I think email is the only way to invite members...

Can I suggest another couple of things?

1. A 'Features' area, similar to but separated out from the 'News' area. This could be a great place for ride reports, product reviews, Brian's annual round-up etc etc. In fact everything that has traditionally been newsletter content and isn't strictly news.

2. A 'For Sale and Wanted' section in the Forum.

Hi Robin

Great idea - I've now added a specific forum where members can post up items for sale...

What about tagging certain news posts "features" to achieve this? what do you think - alternatively users can blog themselves articles - ive already created a news report blog...

Cheers

JULIAN
