25 mile TT G25/53 race result - 14th June 2009

Sunday turned out to be a nice sunny & warm morning with a light westerly wind, but not as fast as riders had hoped.

Simon Donne after some recent good rides, won his first Inter-Club Event with a personal best by just one second. Simon Neave also with a personal was second & third place was Phil Cresswell completing the hat-trick, improving 1 minute 16 seconds to take the Epsom CC handicap award. On a diet of nearly 25 miles each way to work

With the South Western RC only having three starters, Epsom CC extended there lead in the Inter Club points competition, gaining double the number of points.

Contador to face Armstrong in Corsica

Tour de France champion Alberto Contador is to take part in this month's Criterium International two-day race in Corsica. Lance Armstrong also said earlier this year that he would take part in Corsica, set to become the only race where the two rivals will meet before this year's Tour.

Garzelli wins Tirreno-Adriatico

Italy's Stefano Garzelli of the Acqua & Sapone team wins the Tirreno-Adriatico. Norway's Edvald Boasson Hagen takes the final stage of the week-long race with last year's winner Michele Scarponi second overall on the same time as Garzelli.
