Cuckfield Golf Centre is situated south of Handcross near Haywards Heath. It has great views over the countryside. Although primarily a golf course it serves hot food, cakes and coffees throughout the day. It has a large outdoor seating area for when the weather is good.
It opens at 8.00 on Sundays. Breakfast is served until 11:30 when they set up for roast lunches and it gets quite busy – so best to get there a bit earlier.
Note, it is bar service rather than a cafe, so soft drinks and cakes/pastries tend to be a bit more expensive.
Route
This loop starts and finishes at Wells Road. Initially it follows familiar roads and lanes to Faygate then after Colgate heads south through Pease Pottage and Handcross. The return goes north on quieter roads through Horsham then back on usual roads to Epsom. For those with weary legs, the return route passes by Strawberry Fields and Tanhouse so if required, a second stop for refreshments can be made.
The route is rolling, lots of ups and downs but no killer climbs.
